Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Japan Alerts (japanalerts.com, the “Service”), operated by Bonk Industries LLC (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
1. What the Service does
Japan Alerts monitors publicly available listings on Japanese online marketplaces (currently Mercari, Rakuma, Yahoo! Auctions and Yahoo! Furima) and notifies you when new listings match searches you define. We index only information those marketplaces make publicly visible.
2. Not affiliated; purchases are yours
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Mercari, Inc., Rakuten Group, LY Corporation (Yahoo! Japan), Buyee, or any marketplace or proxy-purchase service. All product names and trademarks belong to their owners. We link to listings on third-party marketplaces. Any purchase you make happens on those third-party platforms (or through a proxy-purchase service you choose) under their terms — we are not a party to, and accept no responsibility for, any transaction.
3. Accounts
Sign-in is by email magic link; you are responsible for the security of your email account. You must be at least 18 or the age of majority in your jurisdiction. One account per person; you may not share, sell, or transfer an account.
4. Plans, billing, cancellation
- Paid plans are billed by subscription through Stripe. Prices are shown at checkout; taxes may apply based on your location.
- You can cancel any time from the Billing page; your plan stays active until the end of the paid period. We do not offer prorated refunds for partial periods, except where required by law.
- Free trials, when offered, convert to paid subscriptions unless cancelled before the trial ends.
- We may change pricing with at least 14 days' notice; changes apply from your next billing cycle.
- Promotional and loyalty pricing (for example, discounted rates offered to long-time users) applies for as long as the subscription it was applied to remains active. If that subscription is cancelled or lapses, a new subscription is billed at the standard rate current at that time.
5. Fair use
Alerts, delivery channels, and match volumes are subject to the limits of your plan and to technical guardrails (for example, caps on matches per day per alert and emails per day per channel) designed to keep the Service fast for everyone. You agree not to: circumvent limits or paywalls; resell, scrape, or redistribute Service data as a product; use the Service to harass sellers or manipulate marketplaces; or interfere with the Service's operation.
6. No guarantees about listings data
Listing data comes from third-party marketplaces and can be delayed, incomplete, changed, or removed at any time. We work hard to be fast and complete, but we do not guarantee that every listing will be caught, that notifications will arrive within any particular time, or that prices and details are accurate. Do your own verification before purchasing. The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claims arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including missed purchases, lost profits, or lost data.
8. Termination
You may delete your account at any time by contacting support. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, abuse the Service, or create risk for us or others; where practical we'll give notice and a chance to cure. On termination, unexpired paid time is not refunded except where required by law.
9. Changes to the Service or these terms
We may change the Service and these terms. For material changes to the terms we'll notify you by email or in-app at least 14 days before they take effect; continued use after that means you accept the changes.
